I will not burn. Gwendolyn has never belonged. Not with her birth family. Not with the foster families she bounced between, and certainly not with society. It seemed as though Humankind was rejecting her from the moment she was born. Yet, when a mysterious book finds its way into her possessions, she’s surprised by what lies in the bindings.
Don’t trust falling stars. Or men that kept appearing in her life. Twice she’d seen him, and each time a spark ignited in her chest. One that she could neither explain or ignore. His appearance in her life was not coincidental, nor was it a fantasy. Gwen passed the time of her dismal existence with tales. Grim and light, but she never suspected any of them were based in truth. Afterall, truth was subjective.
Taken for her connection to the book, Gwendolyn must decide if what she sees is real or fake. If her life is in true danger, or if she’d finally lost her mind. And if she had been taken, if this wasn’t a dream, what did Faerie want with her?
